CEDMA praises the good will of the City Council regarding the problems of the Tourism Law

19 October 2018 - 20: 00

The Business Circle of the Marina Alta has initiated a series of actions to expose the problem and require the Council to amend the Tourism Law, repealing the article 65. This article establishes that from now on it is the City Councils that have the last word when companies and individuals register homes in the tourism register to be used for tourist rental.

From CEDMA have explained that "This is a big problem for both municipalities, as well as for landlords and businesses and tourist accommodation professionals. The complication is even greater in the places where there is no existing urban plan, as is the case with Dénia ".

The first step has been to meet with the town councils of the region in which they have found that they understand the seriousness of the situation and that there is a will to solve it as soon as possible.

Mayors and councilors of Urbanism of Dénia, Xàbia and Teulada-Moraira have expressly stated to the board of directors of CEDMA that their intention is not to obstruct the issuance of the urban compatibility reports. Everyone understands perfectly the relevance of tourist housing for the economy of their municipalities, since the 70% of visitors to the province are housed in homes. In addition, all -without importing the political sign of the government team-, have indicated that Article 65 of the new law has meant a greater workload. The departments of Urbanism have to dedicate a lot of time and resources to find out the processing of the reports.

CEDMA insists that the 65 article must be repealed and it is assumed that at the time of its approval, it was not possible to understand the real scope of the measure that was adopted. Now the consequences are being seen and they are not positive for any of the parties involved.

That ready. »Article 65 has to be repealed» because they say so ... and they do not offer, at the very least, a proposal to control the great intrusion, fraud and scams that are committed in this sector ... now, now ... why will it be . But they are only an association of businessmen, they all belong to only two sectors, Hospitality and Construction, there is not much else. They are only an association that behaves as if they were the masters and lords of Denia, they speak only for their interests, not for those of society, which they care little about. They are not politicians, they are landowners. Sure they can offer their opinion! But from that to demanding what has to be done or not at the institutional level goes a long way. They are also always involved in all the "saraos" offering opinions on issues that do not really belong to them.
