President of Baleària, Adolfo Utor, considers that the award of the construction and operation of the new passenger terminal in València to the shipping company and the cruise operator Global Ports Holding (GPH) "It is extraordinary news in times of uncertainty and a storm in the economy". The València Port Authority has assessed the project presented with an excellent rating. "We are satisfied to see our effort to light a project conceived to be a benchmark of sustainability, innovation and commitment to the city of Valencia, its seaside neighborhoods and the port community compensated," Utor highlighted.
In this sense, Utor argues, "the new one maritime station it will be a terminal with an intelligent spirit and a green heart, a beacon of sustainability in tune with the principles of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals that guide Baleària in his vocation of growth and leadership". In fact, the Valencia terminal will be 100% self-sufficient with electricity generated by renewable energies: photovoltaic, wind, renewable hydrogen or biofuel.
The Dénia-based shipping company has been a concessionaire together with the world's largest cruise operator, Global Ports Holding (GPH), which will contribute all its know-how to the project and its commitment to a more sustainable cruise offer with less environmental impact. Baleària will manage the passenger terminal, while GPH will be in charge of all cruise operations. They will be spaces and differentiated procedures, in accordance with the bases of the award.
The CEO of GPH, Emre Sayin, also expressed his satisfaction at having been the concessionaire of the terminal.
