Baleària raises the salaries of its employees in Spain in accordance with the increase in the CPI

January 27 from 2022 - 13: 50

Baleària has decided to update from this January a 6,5% the remuneration received in 2021 with respect to that established in the agreements, taking as a reference the accumulated CPI of last year in Spain. This decision applies to the 1.075 fleet and land employees that make up the shipping company's staff in the Spanish country.

“Homogenize the salary increase in all work centers, minimizing the impact of the CPI on purchasing power, responds to our status as a socially responsible company and to the conviction that by investing in people we will be more competitive, since they are our main value. It will undoubtedly be the best investment of the year”, he explained. Adolfo Utor, President of Baleària.

The increase will be made in the work centers whose agreement did not contemplate an increase and will be higher than that established in those that had foreseen it. It will also be applied to fleet equipment, where the increase was stipulated.

Likewise, Adolfo Utor recalled that "despite the adverse context and the aggressive competitive environment that we are experiencing, we have been able to close a 2021 financial year with good commercial results, and this has been fundamentally thanks to the involvement and commitment of the teams ”. In this sense, the president explained that the company begins 2022 with the challenge of maintaining its leadership in the market thanks to its status as a local, innovative and sustainable company. "We will improve the cohesion of the teams and reinforce our involvement with the project", concluded Utor.

It should be noted that this commitment to the well-being of its teams is in line with the measure adopted Baleària during the most complex moments of the pandemic in 2020, in a period of inactivity and heavy economic losses, when it decided to maintain its workforce and supplement the salary 100% of the people affected by ERTE.
