Baleària is committed to alliances with content creators to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable tourism

January 19 from 2023 - 12: 53

The shipping company Baleària has organized this Wednesday at FITUR an event with bloggers and content creators, who have discussed how social networks can encourage sustainable tourism and inspire users when planning a trip. Under the title of Sustainable Travelers, the event has also served to strengthen the relationship of the shipping company with its main prescribers on social networks.

«Through the different entertainment platforms, from Baleària We seek to promote sustainable and responsible tourism. With the published content, we want to inspire the community when it comes to making a trip, making our environmental commitment known, "explained Pilar Boix, Communications Director of the shipping company. Baleària It is a benchmark in sustainability thanks to its pioneering commitment to eco-efficient mobility driven by cleaner energy that is more respectful of the planet in order to advance decarbonisation.

The shipping company seeks to promote its green path with the help of its collaborators on social networks. Throughout the year, Baleària bets on content creators as prescribers of its values, generating quality content on different platforms and formats. Thus, employees show their community that it is possible to travel and have a great experience on board, while taking care of the planet into account.

Javier Clemente, an environmental educator from the Todos Somos Reciclaje profile, participated in the talk. Clemente, who was awarded as the Best Digital Educator in Spain in environmental awareness, encourages the users of his social networks so that, like him, they can contribute to improving their sustainability through small gestures in daily life.

Going green with influencers

Attendees have been able to discover what are the main environmental challenges facing society and how you can travel in a more sustainable way to reduce impacts on the environment. For this, the participants have received advice to put into practice in the different stages of the trip (transport, accommodation, leisure, waste generation...) in order to become sustainable travelers.

At the end of the event, a recycled toy workshop was held by the craftsman Juan Cabrera from the Planeta Tapón project, within the framework of Baleària's latest campaign, La Juguetería del Mar. An initiative that combines the promotion of recycling and the protection of marine species in a collection of more than 120 sustainable toys made by hand from plastics collected both in the sea and on the coast, as well as from recycled materials from the shipping company's ships.

Precisely the networks, bloggers, influencers and other species, encourage the opposite, narcissistic and disrespectful mass tourism together with an exacerbated consumerism of any experience and product, the complete opposite of a sustainable and responsible society.
The only thing that Balearia is looking for is young people who advertise for them to transport all that massive, cheap, consumerist and vulgar tourism on their ferries. Balearia invoices that. What would happen to Balearia if, for reasons of sustainability, the number of tourists allowed in the Balearic Islands were limited to less than half? Well, they would have plenty of Ferries to begin with and less maritime traffic and that is really starting to talk about sustainability.
