Almost a month after the biggest gastronomic event of the year was celebrated in Dénia, the organization has taken stock of the result of the second edition of the D * na Festival Gastronomic Dénia. The gastronomic curator, Quique Dacosta, together with the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt; the councilor of Creative City, Pepa Font; and the president of Aehtma, Cristina Sellés, have appeared this morning to look back and assess the D * na 2018.
The generalized feeling is very positive both on the part of the organization and on the part of the restorers and producers, the vast majority more satisfied with the result than the previous year.
The numbers of D * na 2018
If we talk about numbers, we should highlight an average of 20.000 Attendees during the two days of festival that consumed more than 43.000 caps across 18 stands of restaurateurs that were installed in the two days, which means an average of 1.200 tapas per day by local participant, as reported by Sellés.
In addition, the D * na has once again been an important showcase for the city of Dénia, which has been present in local, national and international media, both generalists and specialized in gastronomy. According to the organization, the promotion carried out thanks to the coverage of the media exceeds the million euros of economic impact for the city.

In the air the date of the next edition
Quique Dacosta has stated that the D * na has been "satisfactory for all purposes", and it has shown "optimistic with the evolution of the contest". For the chef "We have a unique, inspiring format, born from the vocation to spread gastronomy and traditions" and that has as a consequence the "give possibilities" both chefs from all over the country as well as producers and restaurateurs.
Asked about the next edition of the festival, the mayor explained that they are studying the possibility of repeating next year. And it is worth remembering that this event was born with a biennial vocation and has been held annually.
In this regard, the mayor recalled that, although the will is to be repeated next year, there are many factors on which depends, so it has not ventured to confirm that it will be repeated in 2019.
Quique Dacosta, for his part, has qualified that it is about taking care of this event "from the quality", so the main objective is that "Each new edition is better than the previous one".
