The City Council and the Government of Catalonia will join efforts to make ready the beaches on the May bridge

The rainstorm this Easter has left some damage to the beaches de Dénia valued at about 120.000 euros. And that's just one week away from one of the most important long weekends of the year, the May weekend. That is why the City Council of Dénia and the Generalitat Valenciana have put to work to solve the problems and get the beaches ready for the first of May.

This has been confirmed this Wednesday morning by the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, and the Director General of the Emergency Security and Response Agency, José María Ángel, after the meeting held in the City of Dénia to address the situation in which the municipality has been after the rains. The councilor of security and mayor of Jesus Pobre also attended the meeting, Javier Scotto; and the chief intendent of the Local Police of Dénia, José Martínez Espasa.

The most affected points, and in which they will act with greater speed are Marineta Cassiana, Bovetes, Blay Beach and the mouth of the Racons River. On these beaches, walkways, foot washes have been damaged and the dragged reeds have taken over the sand.

The mayor has acknowledged that you can not act these days in the 20 miles of dianenses beach, but that the work will continue to replenish the entire coast of Dénia. In order to carry out these works, during this week the mayor will meet with the representatives of the tourism department of the Generalitat to coordinate the work.

To these damages are added damage to roads and roads caused by rain, the amount of which has not been calculated at the moment.
