Buses in Dénia: lines, fares and timetables

06 July 2022 - 09: 40

To get to Dénia by public transport, it is recommended to use the bus, since the city is connected to practically the entire country, and from here you can go to numerous international destinations. Similarly, the lack of a rail network makes the bus the only alternative for land transport.

Bus station

Located at the entrance of Dénia, and at the same time less than 10 minutes on foot from the city center, is the bus station. This, however, is a temporary infrastructure awaiting the construction of definitive facilities. Of course, it has been used for years, being the only point in the municipality from where this service leaves.

Urban lines

The company in charge of the regular lines through the city of Dénia is Denibus, which daily connects the center of the municipality with the suburbs (hospital, Les Rotes y Marines). The departure of these lines is on the Esplanada Cervantes, next to the Museu de la Mar.

Denia - Les Marines

This urban line connects the center of Dénia with the beaches North of the city. It leaves from the Cervantes esplanade and its final destination in Nova Dénia, going through the 16 stops along about 8 kilometers. The bus frequency is 15 minutes in summer.

Denia - Les Rotes

This urban line is similar to the previous one but connecting Dénia with the southern beaches of the city. The bus leaves from the Cervantes esplanade and arrives at the restaurant Mena, just at the end of Les Rotes. In fact, it is the only way of direct access to that point in summer, as it is closed to traffic (another option is to leave the car in the public parking and use the free tourist train).

Denia - Costa Calma

This bus line covers the second half of the Les Marines road, continuing the route where the Les Marines line does not reach. It leaves the Cervantes esplanade and ends at the Racons River, on the northern border with Oliva (final section of the beach of Les Deveses).

Denia - Hospital

Dénia's fourth urban bus line is the one that goes to the regional hospital Marina Salud, located at the height of La Xara. Despite the name of the line, the truth is that it is the only one that crosses the urban center with several stops at different points in the city, so it is very useful to get around it without having to walk long distances. It leaves the Cervantes esplanade and arrives at the hospital passing through highly frequented points such as the Arxiduc Carles square, Alicante avenue, the Llebeig school or the funeral home.

county destinations

There are two companies that unite Dénia and other towns in the region of La Marina Alta. Although it also has a line that connects the capital with Xàbia. On the other, Autobuses Esteve connects Dénia with the towns of Vall de Laguart, Pedreguer and Benidoleig.

Autocares Carrió is in charge of the regional route that leaves Dénia and arrives at Xàbia. It is a line that is only operational during the week, whose first bus leaves at 06:40 and the last at 18:15. Among the stops it has, those of the towns of Gata de Gorgos, La Xara and Jesús Pobre stand out, as well as highly frequented areas such as the Hospital de Dénia and the Hotel La Sella.
