This will be the expected return of the Fallas to Dénia

February 10 from 2022 - 20: 18

All the Fallas They return to Dénia this year, now yes, and they will do it in style. Starting this month, a fallera program will start that will end with the long-awaited cremation of some monuments whose life has undergone a forced extension.

This week marks two years since the Dénia City Council met with the commissions already Local Board Fallera to announce the suspension of Fallas 2020. Today, in the same room where the bad news was given to citizens, the long-awaited return has been announced.

The pandemic took away all the parties, in what the mayor has defined this afternoon, Vicent Grimalt, like "a nightmare" but now it dissolves and gives way to "a celebration of coming back to reality." "This time it seems that it is serious," said the municipality, recalling that "we announced that we would return, and here we are."

Along the same lines, the Councilor for Fiestas, Óscar Mengual, who remembers that moment in 2020 as "a very hard blow." “Something broke inside us”, Mengual has admitted, at the same time that he has been optimistic with a long-awaited celebration. «I think that people are already looking forward to Fallas».

The first Fallas of the pandemic in Dénia

The big surprise of the announcement has undoubtedly been the long-awaited answer to the question that has been around for so long: what will the Fallas be like after the break? Well, practically identical.

In response to the current restrictions, and in the hope that they do not need to be tightened, a program has been designed that is similar to that of the editions prior to the pandemic. Yes, there will be parades. Yes, the houses will open. And, of course, the ninots will rise and burn as always, without restriction of access to the streets and squares to witness it or special hours due to curfews. The truth is that it seems that the Dianense party has benefited from the patience of the commissions when it comes to betting on planting in March and not last September.

From this month the programming will begin, as we said, with a tour of Dénia accompanied by music, to witness the different bàndols.

From Saturday 19 you can also enjoy a new exhibition of the ninot indultat, where each commission will present different proposals to those that could already be seen in 2020 to compete for new prizes. The stage will be the recently inaugurated Casa de la Marquesa, at the same time.

A few days later, on February 25, the Bolero Dianium will be presented by Dianium Dansa at 20:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the House of Culture.

The next day, on the 26th, Dénia will revive the last Fallas events held in the city: the Crida and the sopar del germanor. The latter will be held in the Torrecremada tent, as every year, but with tables limited to ten people and other restrictions in force. The Crida by the Falleras Mayores will be from the balcony of the town hall at 20:00 p.m.

Among the novelties of this year, it should be noted that the plantà will be brought forward for some commissions to March 11, so that from that day the streets of Dénia will be filled with a Fallas atmosphere. Another novelty is the newly created Consell de la Infancia Award, with which said body made up of students from the different educational centers in the city will choose the children's falla that they like the most.

In addition, two mascletaes will be held, on March 17 and 18, but this time in Torrecremada. If the sanitary measures are followed as before, there will be no capacity restrictions, but the use of a mask will be required for those attending, since the safety distance cannot be guaranteed.
