This is how the new Dénia Glorieta will look after the works in the coming months

25 September 2022 - 09: 00

At last the works for the redevelopment of Glorieta del País Valencià and other streets in the center of Dénia. A project with which the council seeks to transform the heart of the city and which will have a budget of almost one million euros. The execution is co-financed with the Diputación de Alicante. However, the coffers of the consistory should not even notice it, because, as announced, they will cover this project with part of the Next Generation funds they obtained from the European Union.

The works will begin in the Glorieta on October 3 and must be completed in nine months, so the result should be seen in summer. The works will be carried out in phases, first focusing on the Glorieta itself, then moving on to Ramón y Cajal and Cop streets, and concluding with the placement of urban furniture, plant elements and street painting.

What will the new Glorieta be like?

The changes will be more than noticeable from what has been seen in the images of the project. The new design of the Glorieta maintains the elliptical geometry and expands the space dedicated to natural vegetation, creating new garden areas around the square, the physiognomy of which does not change, but is restored.

Among other plant elements, eight banana trees will be planted to gain shade. The characteristic red tiles and the stone pavement of the central area, as well as the fountain, are also preserved.

In the paving of the streets of Ramón y Cajal to the carreró de Morant, the same material will be used and with the same layout as in the Plaza de la Constitució, in order to give continuity to the area.

a shame of money spent. the gazebo is very nice. It seems to me that this money could be invested in other more necessary and urgent projects. there are still streets with poor lighting and asphalt that is very, very improvable. but go, there will be some interest in spending on something that is not necessary.

Pity of money spent on a square that is well cut off traffic and parking, already deficient in Denia. They have pending more than 20 years without doing the Avda. de las Cortes Valencianas, Fragata street half of land and poorly paved to give some examples of many things more important than that square. The elections are coming soon and what is seen must be fixed in the center, even if it is not the most urgent or necessary.

Very well thought out, it is the center most visited by tourists and by yourselves, those of Denia, the main street that leads to the port of Denia, very good, what? This gives a more beautiful view of the promenade and the parking lots, many have already been opened in Denia, I see it as perfect

What will happen to the hundred-year-old pittosporum that is there now?
