The race to the polls starts: the candidates fill Dénia with posters in the first hours of the electoral campaign

Now yes. Since last midnight, Dénia, like most municipalities and communities in Spain, is in an electoral campaign. The race to the polls that will decide the next legislature has begun, and over the next two weeks an endless number of political events are expected with which each candidate will seek to win over the electorate.

The starting gun has already sounded for a race whose goal is located in the Dénia town hall, for which a decisive final sprint will be competed that will take place on May 28 with the votes collected by the 46 polling stations located in Dénia.

The campaign has begun with the traditional pasting of posters through the streets of Dénia. A job that can be seen this morning, the city having woken up full of faces of candidates for our and regional elections.

Although they do not usually coincide a lot with each other, they have done so as to last night, each party holding a private dinner with the representatives and militants at their headquarters or trusted premises.

After this celebration, and with the clock already striking midnight and, therefore, the entry of Friday, May 12, the campaign began. They all went to the streets to occupy Dénia with the faces of the candidates. Most of them started the evening at the Social Center and around the center of Dénia. It was not the case of the last winner of the elections, since the PSPV, as is usually the tradition, has started on Alicante avenue and Arxiduc Carles.

"We are going to step on the streets to get excited again," said the socialist candidate last night, Vicent Grimalt, after placing the first posters. Rafa Carrió, mayor of Compromís (second formation with more votes in the last elections), took the opportunity to promise to fight for "a dialogue government that makes possible the Dénia that we all want." One of the main candidates to overturn the City Council, Pepa Font, alcaldable by PP, She was also happy and excited about what she claims to be for her "a true passion and at the same time a challenge": politics and her "dear Dénia".

Or how to dirty a population of expensive and useless stationery. "Zero waste" does not even contemplate it, nor do they know what it means even though they have campaigns for sustainability, zero waste, ecology and blah, blah, blah... filling the streets with garbage.
