The Addiction Prevention Department, through the UPCCA (Community Prevention Unit for Addictive Behaviors), begins its activities aimed at families for this new course.
For the seventh consecutive year, an appointment is presented that the families of Dénia cannot miss, the program "Educating in the present". Under this title we want to pay attention to the importance of educating the youngest in order to improve their self-esteem and communication at home. Also the need to avoid problems related to risk behaviors derived from the misuse of new technologies. And not only looking to the future, but also starting now to solve problems that may arise in relation to these issues. We educate in the present, to avoid problems in the future.
This new edition will consist of two workshops aimed at mothers, fathers, families, teachers and other professionals where they will try to provide tools and strategies to promote good self-esteem and communication in the family and to deal with problems arising from the use or abuse of ICT (mobile, PC, video games and social networks). The topics that are going to be discussed are current and necessary to address in order to accompany the youngest members of the household in their evolutionary process.
Programming Languages
September 21 at 19:00 p.m., in the House of Culture of Dénia (Pl. Jaume I, s/n), the talk will take place “ENHANCED THE SELF-ESTEEM OF OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS AND FAMILY COMMUNICATION” . Communication styles (aggressive, passive and assertive) will be worked on and the factors that influence and determine the type of relationship between fathers/mothers and sons/daughters will be jointly analysed. Parenting styles will then be worked on, inviting the participants to carry out a self-reflection exercise so that they can define which style they normally use with their sons and daughters. In addition, concepts related to self-esteem will be worked on and we will analyze how this influences behavior and how to properly favor it in the youngest at home. The session will end with a joint reflection.
September 28 at 19:00 p.m., at the Dénia House of Culture (Pl. Jaume I, s/n) the talk will deal with new technologies. with the title “ACCOMPANIING IN THE PROPER USE OF ICT: MOBILE, PC, VIDEO GAMES AND SOCIAL NETWORKS”, we will work in depth on how to accompany our sons and daughters to make good use of new technologies. For this reason, it will begin by taking a tour of the social networks and the technologies most used by youth; overexposure to ICTs; risks to which they are exposed: cyberbullying, grooming, sexting; dangerous communities, challenges and viral games; privacy and inappropriate content; abuse and addiction. As well as the issue of setting limits will be addressed, providing mothers and fathers with strategies to deal with situations.
These two sessions will be taught by María Teresa Carrasco Pérez, a graduate in Psychology, Master's in General Health Psychology and Master's in Clinical Sexology.
