Ángel Lloret and Germán Mortes, from the Vito-Mortesbike team, keep their mountain jerseys and M40

February 12 from 2019 - 09: 13

The fourth stage of the "Volta Ciclista a la Marina", contested in Benidorm, proved hard because of the undulating terra mythical terrain that caused a lot of movement in the peloton. The goal set by the Vito-Mortesbike team, which was none other than Ángel Lloret retaining the jersey of the mountain and Germán Mortes the best of M40, was fulfilled.

The race, according to the script, threw the peloton at every step by the ascent to Terra Mitica, as it linked in each round Metas Volantes and Premios de Montaña not giving practically truce from the initial whistle.

There were multiple escape attempts throughout the stage, all of them clearly controlled by the teams that lead their leaders in first positions, not allowing the leaks to materialize, less if possible heading to the Flying Goal or Mountain Prize.

The breaks were charged runners after each step on the mountain, because after crowning the peloton was heading in a prolonged and dizzying descent, in which a few seconds given up could mean the immediate elimination practice.

The king of the mountain was more than Angel Lloret to overcome in first position both steps scored by the Mountain Prize, well wrapped by his teammates for each of the promotions.

An unfortunate pinch seemed to leave Germán Mortes without options, and he held (and holds) the Green Maillot de Líder Máster 40. But no, not with a Team like yours. Both for the riders and for the car of the formation itself, which in an excellent organization briefly changed the wheel and with a head and cold blood they carried Germán back to the field again so that he will continue to shine in Maillot de Líder M40.

The last ascent to the Mountain Pass was hard, as was foreseeable, and the drop to the finish line of infarction, exceeding the 70km / h when entering the town of Benidorm, with a head of race reduced in number of runners and one kilometer of goal. A dismissal of the organization, which sent a group of cyclists on the right and another on the left, tarnished an exciting final.

During the test we had to regret the two falls suffered by David Fajardo, who with a strong blow to the knee has not finished, and Vicente Morcillo, who also suffered an unfortunate fall without being able to finish the race either.

In the finish the winner was Álvaro Arenas, following the leader of the Volta Ciclista to the Marina the runner Pedro José López, of the team Uniformes Murcia.
