04 July 2018 - 06: 58

The Dianense triathlete, Andrea Fernández, was runner-up of Spain of Triathlon of Autonomic Selections, in a test that was divided in two and that took place in Badajoz.

On Saturday, Andrea Fernández, member of the Valencian team participated in the women's individual event in which the four best individual times of each team are taken into account and whose sum determines the final time of the elite women's team.

The Dianense reached the goal in the 20 position of the general of the 90 over participants in the female elite category. In this way he achieved the third best time of the Valencian team and being a determining factor in obtaining the silver medal that the women's team was wearing.

The male team was not lucky, with two falls in a bike segment in which the rain was the protagonist, took fourth place in teams.

Mixed relay test

On Sunday, the mixed relay was held with two important men's casualties of the previous day in the Valencian team that finished fourth.

The general calculation gave the fourth place to the Valencian team preceded by Castilla-León, Andalusia and Galicia that was proclaimed absolute Champion. A bittersweet result since last year the team was the absolute champion of the Valencian team, this year the falls and some casualties in the men's team have diminished the result.

By preparing exams, Andrea Fernández can not be present at the Sprint Triathlon Spain Championship in Banyoles, which will take place this same Saturday 7 in July.
