Amparo Petrie and Pedro Manchón will be the maintainers of the major falleras of Dénia 2025

The proclamations and exaltations of the major falleras of Dénia 2025 and their courts of honor are revealing their secrets: the names of the people who will serve as maintainers are already known next Friday, September 13 and Sunday, September 15 in the events that will begin the exercise Fallero of Dénia.

The president of the Local Board Fallera Denia, Jaume Bertomeu, has stated that they are people historically linked to the failures from their towns, Dénia and Benicarló. They have an extensive Fallas curriculum and will address emotional words to the Falleras mayores of Dénia, Carla Puerto and Laura Ramón, at their exaltations.

Graduated in Management and Public Administration from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Amparo Petrie Fernández currently works as an insurance broker in Dénia. She was a senior fallera from Dénia in 2019 and belongs to a very fallera family.

Amparo belongs to the Port Rotes fails, a commission to which the fallera mayor of Dénia 2025 also belongs. In 2004 she was a child fallera mayor; in 2005 she was part of the court of honour of the child fallera mayor of Valencia; and already in 2019 she held the position of fallera mayor of Port Rotes, being elected by the fallero world as fallera mayor of Dénia in that same year.

Her fallera experience is complemented by the presentation of exaltations, and she was also the maintainer of the major falleras of Alaquàs in 2020. In 2022, she presented the election of the Queens and Ladies of Elche.

Pedro Manchón Pau (Benicarló, 1980) is a journalist and primary school teacher. Master in Journalism, Digital Communication and New Narratives, he is also a postgraduate specialized in Culture, Reading and Literature for Children and Young People, and a postgraduate in Editorial Management and Marketing.

At only fourteen years old, together with seven other friends, in 1994 he founded the eleventh falla, Els Cremats. He was the first president, becoming the youngest president in the history of the Fallas of Benicarló and the entire Valencian Community.

He joined the Fallera Local Board in 2006 and shortly after presented his first book: Benicarló, the north of the Fallas (Addis Ediciones), a journey through the history of the Benicarló faults.

In 2010 he was elected president of the Board. His career is marked by commitment to culture. An example is the coordination of work Benicarló in Fallas, the music by the Benicarló City Music Band. A compilation CD that is the soundtrack of our Fallas.

On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the festival, he presented the book: 40 years of Fallas. Benicarló 1973 – 2013 edited by the Castellón Provincial Council. And in his last year as president of the Local Fallas Board, he led the work that allowed the Fallas of Benicarló to be recognized as a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest.

Involved in the traditions of his town, among other things he has written articles and recited praises for the Feast of San Antonio. Recently he has been the driving force behind the creation of the Brotherhood of Abdón and Senén, organizer of the Biennial dedicated to the dissemination of the heritage linked to the Saints of the Stone, co-patrons of Benicarló.

In 2013 he was the maintainer of the Proclamation of the Queen of the Patron Saint Festivities of Benicarló. And last year he was chosen to give the speech as the maintainer of the Fallera Mayor of Benicarló 2024. A few months ago he also gave the proclamation announcing Holy Week in Benicarló.

In the next few days, Amparo and Pedro will meet with Carla and Laura to get to know them better.
