AEMET keeps the yellow alert until calm returns

January 21 from 2020 - 10: 15

Everything will return to calm, at least until the next storm, and they begin to be noticed. It is true that the sun, shy, has a hard time looking out and that we have lived during the last hours episodes of torrential rain and even hail.

However, the AEMET has lowered the alert for this day and the next. The red alerts disappear and they are replaced by three yellow ones, the red alert disappears completely by snow.

The wind force lowers, turning the alert from orange to yellow, although not as much as we expected. Yesterday there were gusts that exceeded 130 kilometers per hour, but today it will remain at around 80 (already annoying figure). Now, as the day progresses, until 15:00 p.m. according to the AEMET alert, the intensity will decrease and calm will return.

The rains are still copious at times, and hence the yellow alert maintained by the AEMET after yesterday's orange, but these will be diluted after 15:00, when we will be out of risk according to the Agency.

In the case of the coastal storm, more of the same. The sea has relieved itself and little by little it rests again. We have gone from yesterday's waves of more than 6 meters to waves that timidly reach 3 meters, and from the red alert to the yellow alert. Now, for everything to return to normal, we will have to wait until Wednesday morning, when the State Meteorological Agency will withdraw the alert, if nothing changes. Then it will remain to see the state in which our beaches after the shocking images of yesterday y the photos of the most visible damage.
