Family activities, one of the most established leisure activities on the annual calendar that has been running uninterruptedly since 2003, presents its programme for the 2024/2025 academic year. The Departments of Culture, Language Normalisation, Environment and the Archaeological Museum have organised, from October 2024 to June 2025, a total of 25 activities for Sunday mornings, open to families, residents of Dénia and the region, as well as interested visitors.
This year's program features new activities such as paddle surfing, big SUP and kayaking, other participatory activities in emblematic places of the city such as the Bosque de Diana and adventure excursions to the Ampla del Montgó cave or the Torre del GerroIn addition, the options from previous campaigns such as theatre, dance, music, walks, cinema in Valencian and guided tours of our heritage are maintained.
The Culture Department has scheduled five theatre performances, three musical performances and contemporary dance, traditional dance and circus shows. As usual, there is a large presence of groups and companies from Dénia, the Marina Alta and the Valencian Community.
To name a few, the Dianense company Tarannà Teatre will represent Arbret, his latest production; in dance, the multidisciplinary show will be presented Scheherazade, which combines music, theater and dance, with the participation of the Dianense pianist Francesc Pérez Perelló, and the Dianium Dansa de Infants Group will also perform, which will perform a dansà in the Calle Marques de Campo, accompanied by the dolçainer from Ondara, Josep Alemany. Among the musical performances, we will find a concert by the students of the Tenor Cortis Conservatory of Dénia and the youth band of the Artistic Musical Group of Dénia.
The Archaeological Museum has organised five free guided tours related to the landscape, heritage and historical facts of Dénia: the rock art of the Catxupa cave; a tour of the Dénia of Madoz; the Roman inscription and hydraulic architecture of the water cave; the devotional ceramic panels found in the streets of the city and the history of the Montgó Agricultural Colony. The walks and excursions, a total of seven, organized by the Department of the Environment, include walks, adventure activities in the sea and participatory outdoor entertainment. For these activities, prior registration by email is also mandatory. viviiconviu@ayto-denia.es.
As in previous editions, the cinema will be organised by the Department of Linguistic Normalisation, which has scheduled the screening of three children's films in Valencian in the auditorium theatre of the Social Centre.
The design of the 2024/2025 campaign brochure is the work of Dénia illustrator Víctor Torres, following the line of commissioning the design to professionals from Dénia and the Marina Alta. The Tarannà Teatre group will be in charge of visiting the city's schools to publicize the program of activities and encourage children to participate.
