Approved a new network of public buses that connect the municipalities of the Marina Alta between them and with Alicante

May 14 from 2019 - 12: 01

The Ministry of Housing, Public Works and Territorial Structure has approved the new public service project for passenger transport CV-201 La Marina Alta after the public information process where city councils, entities and companies have submitted proposals, as published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV).

The new contract optimizes the current offer and will serve a population of about 170.000 inhabitants, for which it will have a minimum of 14 buses and will make about 520.000 annual kilometers.

The new ordering of the lines significantly improves the current service offer. Thus, for example, the local traffic with origin and / or destination in La Marina Alta are concentrated in a single contractual title, which makes possible the coordination of services and schedules and the generation of synergies in the exploitation of the most dispersed nuclei.

Specifically, eleven bus lines will connect the municipalities of the Marina Alta with the start-up of the new public transport network announced by the Ministry of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory.

Routes

Dénia, as capital of the region, will be the start and end of six of the routes.

  • 1 route: Pego- Els Poblets- Dénia
  • 2 route: Calp-Benissa-Dénia
  • 3 route: Benissa-Orba
  • 4 route: Orba-Ondara-Dénia
  • 5 route: Vall de Laguar-Orba-Dénia (by Benidoleig)
  • 6 route: Benissa-Xàbia
  • 7 route: Calp- Moraira-Teulada
  • 8A route: Dénia-Xàbia
  • 8B route: Dénia-Xàbia-Poble Nou de Benitatxell (by the Montgo)
  • 9 route: Orba-Pego
  • 10 route: Castell de Castell-Orba (on demand)
  • 11 route: Planes-Pego (for the Vall de Gallinera)
  • 11B route: Pego-Plans (by the Vall d'Alcalà)

The new contract will be provided for a period of 10 years and it is estimated that the service provided will provide the Generalitat with an economic contribution to cover the operating deficit of 695.000 annual euros.

Bus line to Alicante

The public bus service project from Marina Alta to the city of Alicante has also been approved. In this sense, a population of about 652.000 inhabitants will be attended, for which it will have a minimum of 13 buses and will make about 2.071.000 annual kilometers.

In this new service, the 4, 6 and 7 lines stand out, providing fast trunk services to centers of great tourist relevance such as Calp, Altea, Dénia, Xàbia or Teulada.

In particular, line number 6 will depart from the bus station of Dénia and will make stops at Pedreguer and Gata de Gorgos, from where it will depart direct route to Alicante city, to stop at the bus station, and the airport.
